Sew Ready for Fall: Centerfield Raglan and Inspire Tights by Greenstyle and the Olympia by Love Notions

Today we are back featuring some amazing new patterns because here at Pattern Revolution, we are Sew Ready for Fall!.  Today's features include patterns from Greenstyle, showing off our active side while we get to dress up with Love Notions.

Centerfield Raglan and Inspire Tights sewn by Sarah

I’m Sarah, and I blog over at Sewing with Sarah. When I’m not blogging or taking care of my littles, I’m enjoying running, and Fall is one of my favorite seasons, because it means I can finally run outside again! Our summer temps go northward of 100 degrees, so I’m stuck in a gym for most of the summer, and the change in seasons is a welcome opportunity to do some exercise outside and appreciate the fresh air!

To celebrate, I made myself a new workout outfit using two of my favorite Greenstyle Patterns: the Inspire tights and the Centerfield Raglan with add-ons. I eliminated the side seam on the inspire tights to make the most of my floral print (using the hack on the Greenstyle blog here), and used the hood from the centerfield add-on to keep myself warm on chilly mornings. Since my hands are always cold, I also added thumbhole cuffs, using the hack on my blog here. The athletic fit of these patterns is spot on for me with no adjustments (besides length!), and I can’t wait to wear them and make a few more to complete my fall FitCapsule!

Olympia Dress sewn by Kasey

Fall is here, although it doesn’t mean much living down South since it’s still in the low 90s!  Even so, I’m excited to have a new dress that will take me through all of the seasons!  Love Notions’ Olympia is perfect!  I love that the dress can be dressed up or dressed down so easily!

As with all of Love Notions’ patterns, the many options in Olympia did not disappoint!  I chose the elbow sleeves with a maxi skirt since I figured these options would get me through most of the year.  There are actually 5 sleeve lengths (sleeveless, short, elbow, ¾ and long) and two skirt lengths (knee and maxi).

I fell in love with a floral techno scuba from Sly Fox Fabrics.  I am very petite and felt a thicker knit would provide a bit more structure for my small frame.  My favorite part about the pattern, aside from the built-in inseam pockets, is the unique collar.  It’s amazing because it prevents the bodice from needing a full lining or a facing; this is great news for warmer climates where a lined bodice can add to the misery of the heat and humidity!

The bodice and skirt meet at the natural waist, which makes for a figure-flattering silhouette.  The bodice and skirt are easy to customize with included bust and hip markings on the pattern pieces.  Because of the multiple sleeve and skirt combinations, I guarantee I will have entire closet of these in the months to come!
