Mama Lea romper by Made for Mermaids featuring the Homestead Life Kabloom Floral Knit by Girl Charlee sewn by Heidi:
Hi everyone! Heidi here from Lilly Belle Handmade. I very rarely sew for myself, so I was super excited for our summer selfie sewing challenge. I have been wanting to buy a romper, but every time I try one on the fit is all off because I am super short. After looking through patterns to use, I knew that the Made for Mermaids Mama Lea was the perfect style for me. It was such an easy sew - you’ve got to love dolman sleeves! I put inseam pockets in mine and love them so much. There are directions in the pattern to adjust the pattern pieces so the fit is spot on no matter your height. This pattern is packed full of options and I will definitely be making myself the tunic version next. After chasing my one year old around while wearing this romper all day, I can tell you that it is super comfy, stylish, and practical for mamas of littles.
Another perk of this summer selfie sewing challenge was that it was sponsored by Girl Charlee Fabrics. Yay! Who doesn’t love free fabric?! I chose the Homestead Life Kabloom Floral cotton spandex knit fabric. It is super soft and colorful. This fabric is perfect for summer, but will transition to fall really well too. If you are looking for a romper pattern that is easy and quick, grab the M4M Mama Lea and sew it up with some Girl Charlee - you won’t be disappointed!
Open Back Pullover by Greenstyle Creations featuring Girl Charlee's Ponte de Roma fabric sewn by Maryanna:
My pick for some Summer selfie sewing was the Open Back Pullover by GreenStyle Creations. My fabric was a lightweight Ponte De Roma from Girl Charlee. This pattern is full of options. I chose long sleeves, deep open back with a hood. Other options include sleeveless, shortsleeves, high cut open back, crew neck and wide neck. It is perfect for after the sun goes down and the temps drop a bit. The open back is really on trend right now and great for showing off a strappy back sports bra or swimsuit. This fabric is perfect for making a lightweight summertime pullover. It wears great and sews up really well.
