The Undercover Hoodie by Ellie and Mac
/Hey guys, Maryanna here from Marvelous Auntie M. I purchased the Undercover Hoodie from Ellie and Mac the day it was released. I loved the look of it and couldn’t wait to make one.
At first glance, I thought the front was colorblocked. It is actually an overlay so that you can have the optional hidden pocket behind the front panel. Who doesn’t love pockets? I used all cotton lycra for mine. I chose to do the colorblocked sleeves as I only had a fat half of each of the main prints. Luckily I had been hoarding the navy waves for over two years because it matched perfectly. I used a solid cotton lycra for the hood lining and the waistband.
I plan on getting some french terry to make some heavier Undercover Hoodies for this winter. The cotton lycra one is the perfect weight for those chilly fall mornings and evenings. The instructions were clear and the top went together quickly. The lower front section is perfect for featuring a fun panel like this narwhal one.
I definitely plan on sewing up some more of these. I will probably size down for my next one to get a more fitted look.
Here at PR we don’t just model clothes, we use them in our day to day lives and adventures! Today Maryann is showing us the Around the Block pattern by Ellie and Mac in some serious action on the slopes.
