The Jessie by 5 out of 4 Patterns

Hey! It’s Weatherly from Love and Lilies Designs again and today I’m sharing the 5 Out Of 4 Patterns Jessie Top, Tunic and Dress.

One of the first things I look at when deciding on a pattern purchase is options because I want to know how many ways I can change up a pattern without having to hack it!  Who doesn’t love a whole lot of bang for their buck?! Well, when it comes to this pattern, you have options galore. For my Jessie I chose the short sleeve short dress with the low ballerina back.

Options:

Bodice - Shirt, Tunic, A-Line Short Dress, A-Line Long Dress

Back Necklines - Regular High Back, Low Ballerina, Racerback Insert, Strappy Back (single or multi strap options)

Sleeve Lengths - Sleeveless, Short, Elbow, ¾, Long

Tutorial wise, it just doesn’t get much better than this.  From the tips and tricks to the diagrams, charts and easy to follow instructions, 5 out of 4 patterns makes sewing their patterns a breeze!  Fit wise, this is a slimmer fitting pattern so you’ll want to keep that in mind when choosing your fabrics. I went with a cotton lycra and I love how it turned out!

Heathers Version:

Hello! Heather from All Things Katy!, here! When it comes to dressing myself, I’ve recently been branching out and trying new things- This time, the open back Jessie top from 5 out of 4 Patterns. The fun, open back (strappy, racer-back or ballerina) of the Jessie Top is the perfect way to show off lacy bralette and show off just enough skin.

For my version of the Jessie Top by 5 out of 4 Patterns, I sewed up a size small, strappy back, Jessie Top in cotton lycra. I’ll admit, I was kind of nervous about the how “form-fitting” this pattern appeared to be. I’m not one for “clingy” clothes and I *almost* straightened out the side curves. However, I decided to sew up the pattern as-is, without modifications and I’m so happy I did! The curves of the Jessie Top by 5 out of 4 Patterns hit right where they should- they “hug” the curves without “clinging” to them. Plus, even with the low back, I was still able to wear a regular bra without it showing.

The Jessie Top by 5 out of 4 Patterns is simple to sew up AND fun and flirty to wear? That’s a win in my book!
