It’s been a while since I sewed up something for a review! You have all watched my kids grow up on here! The “baby” is not really a baby anymore, needless to say, that makes taking pictures of him an experience for sure! I believe is showing real life pictures though, so as you can see, he gave us real life! Today, I have the Stitchwerx Roly Poly Pants from their Ainsley & Aiden collection.

I am always looking for items for my little guy that can withstand his rough and tumble ways! He is a typical two year old, so he loves to climb, crawl, and dig! These pants are perfect since they are lined! I had no idea what I was going to use until I was in the store and saw these fabrics! The grey fabric is a bottom weight and the lining is a quilting cotton. He is his daddy’s gaming buddy, so we went with Mario & friends. I chose a size 2T for my guy, based on his measurements. Next time, I will probably make the 3T length so I can get a bigger cuff to show off the lining!

The pattern is rated intermediate, and with the techniques she uses for sewing the legs together and the waistband, I have to agree. I love that there is not a separate waistband. She includes both finished measurements and child’s measurements and has the pattern pieces separated into two groups, 18m-3T and 4-6, which makes cutting out the patterns much easier!

My little guy likes his new pants and we were even asked where we bought them while we were out running errands!

I see a few more pair being sewn up for the winter!

Happy Sewing!

Suzanne here - I also sewed up these fun pants - I used flannel for the lining, and a linen weave bottom weight for the outside.   I wanted to make sure he could wear these with any of his shirts, so I kept the colors neutral in grey tones.  To make them more than basic, I gave him a little friend to keep him company on the back pocket ;o).

With the flannel lining, these pants will keep my skinny guy  warm through winter.  They are soft and comfy, and he doesn't want to take them off ever!
