Rose Ruffle Tee by Made For Mermaids
/So I have been going into overdrive making a Fall Wardrobe for Mack - don't worry, I'll show off her collection soon! I am lucky enough to get some hand-me-downs from friends, but honestly, even though the other girls I know are older - most of them are smaller. Mack just has a broad and tall build, so my 2 year old needs a size 4, but even 4 tops can be short on her long torso.
Sewing Mama to the rescue!!!!
I really love the Rose Ruffle Tee by Made for Mermaids. It is a simple tee in shape (with great length), but the ruffle attached to the sleeve adds that girly element that differentiates a girl tee from a boy's and adds a unique detail to her closet. Such an easy addition that adds almost no time to the sewing!
I Made the size 4 based on measurements, you can see that this is a fitted top through the shoulders and arms with a length that hits at high hip - woot, no belly shirts here! One of the great things in this pattern is the sizing chart. Measurements are given for chest, height and finished top length. This is wonderful because you can easily pick your size and adjust the length based on the finished measurement that best works with the torso of your child.
Pattern Details:
- Size 1/2-14y
- Size Chart
- Yardage Requirements
- 11 pages of pattern pages with color coded AND dashed lines by size
- clear instructions with colored images for further detail
- Additional pieces given in a cutting chart by size
- 3/4 or long sleeve with ruffle (could leave off the ruffle as well)
I will certainly be making more of these, this is the perfect fit for layering under dresses or to wear on its own. There is also plenty of room to play - double up the ruffles, leave them off, add details on the front (buttons, bib, lace trim)... so many ways to mix it up and have a closet full of options from just one pattern.
*Since I know you are all going to ask - this awesome fabric is the Mustard and Ivory one inch stripe from Girl Charlee. The weight is perfect for Tee's like this one, dresses, even leggings or knit ruffle pants. The mustard is perfect for Fall and coordinates with so many other colors dreamily!
