AD Challenge: Pearl Shrug by Gracious Threads
/My latest pattern is the Pearl Shrug. It is sewn out of knits for comfort, and includes options for long or short sleeves.
The neckline is finished with fold over elastic (or you can create your own knit binding) and it closes with a single button. A band finishes off the lower edge; no need to hem!
This design is even more special because it was designed by one of you! This spring, the Bettie's Basket group help a 'Design your own Pattern' contest and Nadine came up with one of the winning designs. I volunteered to make her drawing into a reality. The dress was released last week (Trine Dress and Top) and now I'm happy to share with you the coordinating shrug!
As with all my patterns, the Pearl Shrug features 'no trim' assembly, and layers so that you can print only the sizes you need. The detailed tutorial includes computer drawn illustrations for each step. Sizes 2-12 are included, and the pattern is rated as advanced beginner, although I would suggest reading up on sewing with knits if you never have before (you can find detailed posts in my 'New to Knits' series on my blog).
The model shown above has paired the Pearl Shrug with 3 other Gracious Threads' patterns: the Trine Dress and Top, Starfish Shorts, and Sunshine Headband. You can read more about the other garments in this outfit on my blog. Models below are also wearing a Trine Dress and Top. {hint: buy two or more patterns and you can get the Sunshine Headband pattern for FREE!}
The Pearl Shrug is on sale for $5.50 until May 25. You can also win a copy below (if you buy before you win, I will refund your purchase). a Rafflecopter giveaway
