I am so happy to be here on Pattern Revolution! To be part of the Aspiring Designers Challenge is such an amazing opportunity for me.I have never blogged before, this is my very first time!I started sewing in December 2011 for my little daughter, Koda. I liked some of the clothes that you could buy in the stores, but there was not much that ran to my taste and how I wanted to dress her.I like vintage styles and decided to add a little something to everything I made, so it became my motto “vintage style with some added funk”.I started making clothes to sell at a fabulous boutique market every few months and have managed to find a small following for my page Koda Baby.I adore PDF patterns as they are so easy to work with and mostly have some really great tutorials to go with them. The other wonderful thing is that you can have contact with the designer or a facebook page if you are stuck on something!I cannot remember exactly when I decided to just start making my own patterns for Koda, it just sorta happened one day.I only ever made one size each pattern, the size that Koda was, and then one day I researched how to scale patterns and the Koda Cargo was my first pattern I scaled. My new pattern being released today, the Koda Bustle, is so completely the image of Koda Baby and I just adore how sweet the little girls look running around in them.Koda loves her Bustle and calls it her ‘pretty skirt’.She insists on wearing it all the time and it is a bit of a battle to get it off her just so that I can wash it!I had a fantastic time in testing the pattern.I worked with some really wonderful, generous women who did such an amazing job with each of their bustles. It was tested all over the world, Australia, USA, Canada, Italy, Portugal, just to name a few. Some really amazing Koda Bustles were made for their beautiful girls for Halloween, Thanksgiving...even Christmas!
Now it is ready to release and I cannot wait to see what people create from my pattern . You can buy the Koda Bustle in my little shop in Etsy for the special price of $8 AUD (normally $13 AUD). This special price will last until 23 November. Or you can register to win a free copy in the competition below!I would wish that if you purchased my pattern, for you to come past Koda Baby Boutique on facebook. It is a closed group so that you can safely post photos up of your beautiful babies and that they are only seen by those who are there for the same reason.
