Teronia's High/Low Dress Version
If getting to make the dramatic Hi Lo version of this dress is like trying to catch a bouquet at a wedding then I would be the bridesmaid who knocked someone down to take the bouquet. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of the options that this pattern offers, but I absolutely had to sew up the dramatic version first. I love the look of the ruffle cascading down to the back. It reminds me of the spirit animal dress that I made for myself, so I decided to make it from the same peacock fabric.
All the versions of Harmony have the same bodice style so I changed mine up by placing the keyhole and ties in the front rather than the back. The modification was easy to make and the whole dress went together pretty quickly evenn with me having to mash a 2t/5t for Kiwi’s small frame. I love the simple basic shape of the dress that can be adapted for any occasion depending on which options you choose. I plan to make some Harmony tops for school that can be layered with long sleeve shirts. The simple version would be great for playdates and the maxi could be made from light fabric that would just float on our Florida summer breezes. For now, I’ll just have to let my little chickadee strut her stuff to Target until I get through my current to do list. I really enjoyed this pattern from Simple Life Pattern Company, it is good “instant gratification” with a little punch to it. I can’t wait to see all of yours!
Marnie's Top Version
For my version of the Harmony Dress and Top, I made the top version, with a hi-low hem and a ruffle. This is a really sweet top that pairs perfectly with jeans and leggings, and can layer easily with jackets and cardigans to allow transitioning into a new season. It is winter here, and was actually quite cold and windy when we took these pictures, so please excuse the expression on my daughters face. I love this little top and cannot wait until it warms up here in September and I can add a Harmony dress to her wardrobe. I made my daughter a size 5, and the fit was perfect and spot on. I highly recommend this pattern!
Rebecca's Maxi Version:
The Harmony dress from Simple Life Pattern Company has been a stunning addition to my daughter’s wardrobe. The maxi length pairs perfectly with this border print for a stunning summer dress! The other thing I love about this pattern is it comes with so many options, you can make a top, dress, hi-lo dress, or maxi length dress, you can make the dress using a woven or knit fabric, or with or without a ruffle. The options are endless!
Nothing shows off a pattern better than a variety of fabrics and sizes! Today we are featuring the Kyra dress by Simple Life Pattern Company, sewn by three of our reviewers.
