Hi it’s Denita from HattieLu Handmade! Sharing a little fourth of July spirit with you all! July 4 is my second favorite holiday! There’s something exciting about the official celebration of summer. Of course, having a birthday two days before means extended celebration!
We’ll be headed to my dad’s house for a good ole fashioned cookout! My extended family comes together to prepare a feast! The next stop is downtown Greenville. The Red, White and Blue Festival has lots of kid friendly activities to hold them over until the fireworks begin! There’s truly something spectacular about celebrating the birth of a nation!
My three get to choose each year what they would like to wear. This year, the twins chose shorts and my oldest chose a jumper. For my youngest, the pattern is Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop’s Day Camp Set. It’s a free pattern!! For my middle, the pattern is Terra’s Treasures’ Long Beach Shorts. For my oldest, the pattern is Create Kids Couture’s Jeffrey Jumper. The embroidered shirts are from Cow Patties Cloth Diapers. Thank you Megan! The fabric is from the Fabric Outlet. I’d love to see what you’re making this year for your little ones.
A very special thank you to the men and women of the military! Thank you for protecting my family! We are thankful and appreciative of your sacrifice! Thank you to my hubby for his years of service! GO ARMY! HOOAH!

Hey everyone! Carrie here from Beri Bee Designs to share a little of our red, white and blue spirit for the 4th. My oldest is off visiting her grandparents for the next few weeks so I only had my little guy to sew for which is becoming SO much fun! This is the Treasure Pocket Tee from Duck Butt Designs. I modified this a little by making it a tank and a double pocket. (ps…. If you like the tank version be on the lookout in the next week or so, a little birdie told me we might have a tutorial coming)
We keep things pretty casual, maybe a parade and a picnic, and as you can see he’s ALWAYS on the move so I knew that whatever I made him had to be comfy and easy to play in. This definitely meets that criteria and has such a fun look that really sets it apart. I bought these awesome Lillestoff Ninjas from Hallå Fabrics quite awhile ago and it seemed so perfect for this project! As much as I love making holiday wear, it’s even better when we can keep wearing it long after the day.
