Hello Pattern Revolution! This is Ren from The Inspired Wren, thrilled to be here to inspire you to think outside the season when sewing the Paneled Sunsuit from Designs by Call Ajaire.

First, let’s talk about this pattern. It is so much more than a pattern. It is more of an e-book chock-filled with information and variations – and not just the pocket/no-pocket, or cuff/no-cuff type variation. These variations are full-on new garments: from the original Sunsuit romper to a maxi dress; from a jumper to a pocketed pair of pants. Seriously, this pattern is a steal for all you get and can create. And just this week Ajaire released a free add-on for sleeves, too!

The ingenious construction of the Paneled Sunsuit leaves a clean-finished interior and no closures for your little one to struggle with. There are elasticated shoulder straps and the bodice is fitted across the back with elastic. Add the elastic at the waist and any garment sewn from the Paneled Sunsuit pattern is easily pulled on from the feet up, and easily slipped down to come off.

But the “Sunsuit” title may lead you to believe it’ll only work for the summer months, not so! I am here to show you that it can breezily transition to the cooler months. Made in a kid-friendly suiting (read: washable), paired with a turtleneck and cabled tights, the jumper (or pinafore) view easily becomes classic, school-girl chic.

I love me a colorway made of a neutral with a pop of color. I pulled the teal-blue out of the brown-gray plaid and used it for the flat piping on the bodice and pockets. My favorite detail, though, is the subtle change of plaid cut on the bias at the top of the bodice on the front and back, and in the pockets. Plus, it meant I didn’t have to match the plaids in those places. Win!

Rebekah

Hello there! It's Rebekah from RebekahSews again with another fun pattern. Today we are taking a look at The Panel Sunsuit by a new to me designer Designs by Call Ajaire. Now from the title you are probably thinking, "Oh, another romper..." Well stop right there and think again! This is much more than a romper! Don't get me wrong, you can certainly make a romper, however you can also make much more: top, shorts, pants, skirt, maxi dress, and the list goes on. Want pockets? No problem. Want faux pockets? No problem. Want to add some detailing? No problem! Basically what I'm saying, in case you haven't had your coffee yet, is this pattern is full of options. I just love that O word, don't you? Dress it up or down, and even layer for the colder months, and you will have a pattern that lasts year round.

For my girl I made a little fancy yet fun to play in combo. I love separates at this age as little miss is practicing her independence with learning to dress herself. I also makes diaper changes a little easier, and when she learns to use the potty it will make it that much easier too. I made a size 12mo as that is exactly where she fit in all measurements. The fit on the bottoms was pure perfection! I really couldn't ask for more. The top was shorter than I expected, so I only turned in 3/8" and added a trim to make it work for her as a regular top rather than the cropped version in the pattern. I love the look. I especially love the elasticized straps and the added elastic on the back is a nice feature.

This is definitely a fun pattern and one I will make again. There are so many options I can really get the creative juices flowing and create a new and unique look every time. I think the maxi dress is calling my name next!

Hi everyone! It's Lisa from LisaLisa Designs sharing my version of the Paneled Sunsuit Pattern by Call Ajaire. The Paneled Sunsuit has so many options it was so hard for me to decide which one to make. Since my daughter has a strong opinion on her wardrobe I let her pick from the pattern views provided. With 10 different choices she even had a hard time choosing.

We both agreed the tank and skirt would be a great combination. I added crochet lace and some fun fringe to the front of the bodice. The bodice is lined so I added the details to the main front fabric first before attaching the lining. For the skirt I decided to use some of my bodice fabric as a border.
