Susie Peasant Dress by TREASURIE-My Childhood Treasures

I always love a nice peasant dress.  They are classic styling, quick to make and the perfect showcase for beautiful fabrics. Today I am showing you the Susie Peasant Dress from TREASURIE-My Childhood Treasures

The Susie Dress has a classic peasant dress silhouette with a neckline ruffle and an optional hemline ruffle. The [lain hem option is great for showing off a border print like this Magical Parade by Sarah Jane fabric.

The neckline ruffle is a prefect opportunity to use a contrasting fabric, or as in this case, showcase some of a border print. My daughter was especially delighted that there was a seahorse mermaid (dragon) on her dress, so the ruffle gave her a few extras!

This dress is super simple and quick to make.  The arm holes are finished using bias tape, which is another opportunity to sneak in a special pop of color or bling (this one has gold bias tape!).

With spring right around the corner, you can't go wrong with a few peasant dresses to start building your little one wardrobe.  Since peasant dresses are easy to layer, I know she will get a lot of use out of this one and I can't wait to add a few more to the mix!

Special thanks to Larissa from Connected by a Thread for sewing this amazing version!
