Kaftan Dress by My Childhood Treasures
/Hello Pattern Revolution Readers! It is Crystal, from Stitched by Crystal! Temperatures are warming up around here and the swimming pools are open! So I was excited to sew up the Kaftan dress and top pattern by My Childhood Treasures for my daughter to wear as a trendy swimsuit cover this summer. Today I get to share my review of the pattern with you!
I tried patterns by My Childhood Treasures before, a couple years ago I sewed up this swimsuit and this dress, and they are always a pleasure to sew. This Kaftan pattern was no different! The pattern is professional and easy to follow. The PDF has clear step by step instructions and very clear photos to illustrate each step. The photos are taken of contrasting fabrics on a crisp white background, they even have lots of labels, stitch lines drawn in, and arrows pointing out where to sew which make sewing the pattern a breeze!
The pattern has two lengths, a dress length or a top length. I chose the dress length for this swim cover. The Kaftan features and elastic waist and an optional button closure at the top and can be embellished with some fun trims on the sides!
I would say this pattern is for confident beginners and up. The elastic casing at the waist and neckline may be a bit challenging for a true beginner, but with the clear, easy to follow instructions even they may be able to take it on!
We have already tested the tunic out at the pool and she got tons of compliments. This dress will be seeing a lot of pool and beach time this summer! And I am sure there will several more of these in her future! Make sure you swing by My Childhood Treasures to check out the Kaftan pattern. While you are there, maybe grab a pattern for an adorable new suit to pair with it, like this cute one or these new release tops and bottoms!
Today Katy reviews the Tess Wrap Dress by My Childhood Treasures. This dress is super cute and easily accessorized to be an all season dress!
