Emily T-Shirt by Laela Jeyne Patterns

Hi, it’s Kari from That’s-Sew-Kari and today, I’ve sewn for myself!  I rarely take the time to sew for myself, but I decided to try out the Emily T-Shirt by Laela Jeyne.  This fitted tee shirt is full of options -- cowl neck or hood, two neckline options, 3 sleeve lengths, optional triangle accent, 4 cuff styles (including thumb), and 3 elbow patch options.  Whoa, that’s a lot of options!  The pattern covers sizes XS-XXL (Bust: 32”-48”).

This is my first time using a Laela Jeyne Patterns and I am thoroughly impressed.  The pattern is professionally written with a great layout and easy-to-understand tutorial.  You can also print the pattern in layers which is nice and makes it easy to blend two sizes, if needed.  The pieces assemble fast with no-trim assembly, as well.

My “go-to” tee style is normally solid or stripes. but for this review I decided to step outside my comfort zone a bit and cut into my Art Gallery Knit, {Tiny Dancer Midnight} from Mabel Madison.  Since it’s Spring here in NC, I chose short sleeves with cuffs, along with the scoop neckline.

My measurements put me solidly in size Small so I didn’t need to blend sizes.  However, I did utilize the shorten line (as I’m only 5’1”) and took out about 2.5” of length.

Now, I’m on the lookout for more knit because I love how this turned out!  Any suggestions on trendy knits I should be on the lookout for?  Link me below PLEASE….. I need to get away from my stripe and solid rut!
