Moccasins are all the rage right now, but never in my life did I think I would be able to sew a pair. However, Dandelions n’ Dungarees has released the Almost a Freebie Moccs pattern, making what seemed impossible, possible. Not only is it possible, it’s super easy! The pattern recommends using non-fray, durable fabric, like leather or suede. It was fun experimenting sewing with types of fabric I had not used before. I chose a faux suede for two pairs and a glitter canvas for two pairs.

The moccs go together very quickly. Because of the fabric required, there is no hemming needed. You can be creative and make your fringe a different color than the main body of the shoes.

These moccs received the stamps of approval from my daughters! My oldest even slept in hers as she refused to take them off. (Yuck! This germaphobe mom washed those sheets ASAP!) Perhaps I need to make some just for house shoes.
