Hi there! I’m Kari from That’s-Sew-Kari sharing my review of the Sweet Lilly Pintuck Dress by Bella Sunshine Designs. This dress is a fitted bodice featuring 10 gorgeous pintucks, slightly puffy sleeves, a buttoned back and a gathered skirt and just the right amount of ruffles. It comes in sizes 6m - 12 girls and has two length options -- Babydoll/Tunic or Dress Length.

This is my first time trying a Bella Sunshine Designs pattern and I was not disappointed! This pattern is very thorough and it seems every little detail has been thought of and included. The line drawings in the tutorial are so easy to follow. If you follow her steps exactly, you’ll have a completely enclosed bodice (no exposed seams even at the shoulder seams) (If you are in a time crunch, like I possibly was, you could probably cheat on that a couple times… but shhhh.)

Of course, you should never skimp on your time with your pintucks! This was my first go at pintucks and I’m pleased with how they turned out. NOTE: This pattern contains layers and it’s very important to print the bodice in only layer(s) you need. This way, you’ll be able to see where your pintucks are.

My daughter loves her new dress and I’m so happy that I found a new (to me) designer to love. I actually just picked up her Coffee Shop Lace Dress in my winnings for Pattern Revolutions Back-to-School contest. I also have a more “creative” version for the Sweet Lilly swirling in my head if I can locate the right fabrics :)
