The Omni Tempore by Sofilantjes
/Today Serena and Crystal are sharing their versions of the Omni Tempore Hoodie from Sofilantjes. Until 9/22/15 at 11:59 PM EST you can use the code "omni" for 15% off the kids version of this pattern. With tons of options and a great size range, this is a great staple pattern for your child's fall wardrobe, but don't get too jealous...it comes in adult sizes too!
It’s Serena here and I’m pretty excited for cooler weather and wearing hoodies and long sleeves! My kiddos are rough and tumble even though one of them is Miss Diva, they love anything comfy. I sewed up two different versions of the Omni Tempore pattern from Sofilantjes, it’s such a great pattern and there are so many options! I just fell in love with the Doodles line at Joanns and this print on my daughter is the ‘Woodland Animals’ in a knit, it’s a little thick but with great stretch, so it was perfect for the hoodie version. My son’s top was made with some awesome knit found in the red dot section at Joanns, score!
This pattern is from size 12 months all the way to a kid's 14, nice when you want to match up your kiddos or cousins. There is a unisex adult version sold separately or as a bundle as well. The options are endless and what’s great is that this could be made more casual or dressed up with a nice sweater knit.
Pattern Options:
-Short Sleeves w/or w/out cuff band
-Long Sleeves w/or w/out cuff band
-Bottom of shirt w/or w/out cuff band
-Hood or cross over collar
Pattern includes layer a printing option, woohoo for only needing to print what you need! Charts with fabric requirements (everything in Metric and Imperial), finished measurements, tips and tricks. Line drawings to help guide you along the way including a tutorial on how to lengthen or shorten sleeves to make it more custom.
This pattern sewed up fast and without any hiccups, it would be a great intro to knits pattern. I whipped them both up during naps this week.
My daughter is in a 4t perfectly and I sewed up a 4t, the fit is spot on all around. Next time I was thinking of cutting out a little more of the neckline to give her more room for her hair, it was hard to keep put back inside when she was running around. My son is in a 3t top, sewed up a 3t and the fit is almost there. The sleeves were a tad long but great for him to go throughout the fall and winter. No problems getting the tops over their heads, no need to serge or finish inside seams, knit is awesome!
One thing I love about this pattern is that it has a "Summary" section, which is basically the quick version, and there is also section at the end that shows just the line drawings step by step showing construction--Genius!
