Sew Dapper Lad by Footloose and Fancy Free

Some of my favorite things to make for my boys when they were smaller were applique T-shirts. They are an easy and quick sew, but they really pack in the cuteness without a lot of effort. Today I'm reviewing the Sew Dapper Lad by Sandra Lister of Footloose and Fancy Free. Enter to win a copy at the bottom of this post.

I love a pattern with options and was excited to see that there are several mix and match looks included in the pattern.

I decided to go with the vest and the bow tie. Sadly, my boys are too big now for this look, but I was able to borrow one of Abby's little friends to show it off for me.

I used a Garanimals (Walmart brand) T-shirt and the appliques fit perfectly. Sandra includes a t-shirt buying guide in the pattern to tell you which brands work best and have been tested with the pattern.  I really hate guessing and having to trim things to fit, so I was very pleased when I did not have to any adjustments to the applique in order for it to fit the seams of the t-shirt perfectly.

Mom, you said we were going to the park. I did not sign up for this modeling gig.

Button placement is marked on the pattern, again, no guesswork needed. You can also add a little pocket and hankie which I omitted this time.

This would be the perfect casual Easter shirt, or great option for making matching sibling sets.

I think this would be an excellent pattern for a beginner seamstress. It includes sizes NB-5T, so it covers a pretty big size range.
