LilyGiggle has been making some great patterns and I’m excited to tell you about the Brigitte Bow Dress/Top Pattern. I made the dress version for my daughter but I can’t stop thinking about how adorable the top would look with any of her patterns for pants. I used knit fabric for the top and woven for the skirt but this could also be made with all knit fabrics.
This pattern is designed to have a slim fitting top with a high-low gathered skirt or a peplum. You can add a bow to the neckline or leave it plain. Or course, I added a bow for my girl.
One of my favorite things about LilyGiggle patterns is that you have the ability to print out the size you select. Directions for how to do this are included. Other than the printable pattern pieces for sizes 2-12, you also get:
*pattern assembly layout
*charts for size, finished garment measurements, and fabric requirements
*instructions for customizing fit
*instructions for making the top and/or skirt version(s)
*options for sleeve length
*different options for finishing the hem
*recommended fabrics
*supply list
*cutting layout diagram for both woven and knit materials
*useful tips for sewing with knit fabrics (including good suggestions about stabilizing the fabric)
*quick sew instructions and more detailed step by step instructions with color photos showing the sewing steps
*color photos showing the different looks
This is a great pattern for everyone. If you are an experienced sewist, you can zip through the quick instructions. If you are new to sewing or prefer to look at pictures as you go, that option with detailed instructions is also included. It goes together quickly and the choice in sleeve length makes it easy to create different looks for the various seasons.
My daughter did not want to take this dress off which = she likes it. I bet you know a girl who will like it too. Be sure to visit Lily Giggle for this pattern. You won't regret it.
Happy Sewing!
Paige

Nicole here from K & A Couture I got the chance to review the super cute new LilyGiggle pattern, the Brigitte Bow Top and Dress. I love it as does my 4 year old!
I think I own every LilyGiggle pattern! Her designs are just so cute and versatile. My girls love everything I've made using her patterns and the fit is always spot on. This top I made a bit big for my little so it would fit all winter. I love all the little details on this top. The high low skirt is so cute and she shows you how to lengthen it to a dress. I decided to make mine tunic length mainly because the fabrics I wanted to use I had just enough for this length!
As with all LilyGiggle patterns, she has great instructions! Most people who sew with knits don't stabilize the bottom of the bodice, and she gives several tips on what to use to do this. It is more important than you may realize. In my opinion if you are not topstiching with a coverstitch machine, you should always stabilize.
I love how quick this top was to make. I had only a few short hours to get it all put together, with making the top and pants it took me less than two hours. I love it when I can make a whole outfit in just a couple of hours. I'm much more likely to use that pattern again if I know I can whip it out on a Saturday morning!
Some of the things I love about LilyGiggle patterns:
1. Quick sew instructions for the more expierenced seamstress
2. Detailed instuctions for the beginner sewer with pictures
3. Size Chart for helping you choose the perfect size
4. LOVE the layering turned on in the PDf so you can print just the size you want instead of having to print all the sizes nested.
5. Tons of tips for sewing with knits
I hope you enjoy the pattern as much as I do!! Oh, and in case you were wondering, the knit I used for this outfit you can get here at One Red Blossom Fabrics, we've gotten nothing but compliments on this fabric and it's sooo soft.
