Aspiring Designer - Stubbornly Crafty
/Pattern Revolution is happy to be hosting the first Aspiring Designer's Challenge. Please join me in congratulating these new designers for making through all the hurdles it takes to get from inspiration to release and enjoy browsing their creations all this week. Please help me officially welcome today's Aspiring Designer, Stubbornly Crafty, to the world of PDF Pattern Design.
Hi, all! I’m Lisa Summerhays from Stubbornly Crafty. I’m super excited to be releasing my very first pattern. My sweet husband has been encouraging me to do so for a long time and this challenge has been just the thing I needed to take that leap.
I mostly design for my kids. They are my inspiration. To begin, I’ll be doing more beginner-friendly patterns for fun, quick projects like my Zipper Critters. In the future, I hope to start making my clothing design ideas come true. I’ve drafted for myself and my kids before but I want to make sure I know all there is to know about drafting, scaling, pattern making, etc. before I go commercial in this area. I’ll be offering a lot of freebies while learning the ropes.
I hope you find my design as cute as I do. I’ve designed a series of little zipper pouches called Zipper Critters. Over the next couple of months, I’ll be releasing a new one each week. To start, we have the penguin (if done in black and whites) or the bird (if done in colors).
It's fully lined and adorable on the backside too.
The PDF includes a fully digitized pattern that is perfect for beginners with loads of photos to walk you through the steps. You can purchase this pattern in my etsy shop.
