Read MoreHello, lovely readers! Heather from All Things Katy!, here! Do you know what time it is…? It’s One Thimble Time!! Yay!! One Thimble is a quarterly digital sewing magazine (e-zine) that is chock-full of PDF sewing patterns, helpful sewing articles and gorgeous pictures.
Currently, we are one Issue #19 of One Thimble and “playtime” is the name of the game. Softies, purses and play clothes, oh, my! So fun… er, I mean…. SEW FUN! ;-) Patterns included in this issue of One Thimble are as follows:
Beep Beep Sweatshirt - Made by Jack's Mum - size nb to 12
Alfie Sweatpants – Ainslee Fox Boutique Patterns – size 3-12
Pixel Pullover – Jennuine Design – size 1-12 - knit
Monster Mash Pinny – Duchess and Hare Patterns – size ½ to 12
Playtime Dress – Sew by Pattern Pieces
Pinky Promise Bag– Little Moo Designs
Traffic Pillows – Piccolo Studio
Activity Wall Hanging – Kaela’s Patch
Felt Activity Board – My Felt Lady
Dixie the Chicken – Frazzy Dazzles
The first pattern that I sewed from One Thimble #19 was the The Pinky Promise Bag by Little Moo Designs. This sweet purse, “....is designed with the tween age group in mind…” and my eight year old daughter (aka Miss Sassy Pants ;) fits the bill perfectly! The overall proportions of the Pinky Promise Bag are perfectly suited for the younger crowd and I loved being able to customize the cross-body shoulder strap to her height. I either already had the supplies on hand or, I was able to source them locally. This small project is perfectly suited to those wanting to venture into bag making, such as myself. Best of all, Missy LOVES the Pinky Promise Bag and carries it with here everywhere!
The second project that I tackled from One Thimble #19 was the Felt Activity Board by My Felt Lady (how cute is that name?!). This was a fun project to make simply using the supplies I had on hand. While this project does include A LOT of cutting, the included templates are not hard or complicated. It can easily be done while binge watching Superstore (not that I would know from experience…. ;). I love the simplicity of this Felt Activity Board and the sense of imagination and creative play it invokes!
As usual, One Thimble #19 does not disappoint! Every included pattern has so many creative, imaginative and PLAYFUL possibilities! Plus there are a number of amazing and relevant articles to read. With topics ranging from techniques to business, you'll be sure to find reading that is interesting to you! Have FUN sewing and reading!
Here are some additional patterns you'll find in One Thimble Issue 19:
