Sewing a Belle Inspired Dress-Hop Skip Jumper from The Handmaidens Cottage
/We took a family vacation to Disney World over Christmas this year, so of course that meant my sewing went into overdrive to create outfits for the girls to wear each day. One dress that was high on my daughters list was a Belle dress. Since walking around all day calls for comfort and sewing for 2 kids calls for speed, I chose the Handmaiden's Cottage Hop Skip Jumper to make a her Belle inspired dress.
I used a bright blue quilting cotton and layered it over a white knit dress that we had from a different outfit. For a little extra Belle touch, I cut a vinyl decal with my silhouette and ironed it on the skirt. It turned out really cute and was the perfect touch of princess for wearing at the park, but also comfortable for her all day.
The Hop Skip Jumper was very quick and easy to make. It only has 2 pattern pieces, so the printing and assembling is minimal. It took me about 45 minutes to make it from start to finish. And she loves it. She wears the jumper over a variety of other dresses and outfits now that we are back from vacation. With this pattern being so quick and easy, it will definitely be on my list for future makes!
She was so excited to eat at the Beast's Castle and meet the Beast in her Belle dress!
You could make so many cute and easy princess inspired versions of the Hop Skip Jumper! Which one will you make?
