Christmas Gifts featuring the Della Pattern by Swoon Sewing Patterns
/Happy Holidays everyone! I don’t know about you but sometimes finding the right gift is soooo hard. Half the time you end up giving a gift card or something generic because you can’t find the right gift. Or maybe your recipient is just hard to shop for. I know I struggle with this every year. Well this year I wanted to break that cycle. I wanted to make something that I knew would be loved and put to good use.
What can every woman use? Well a great wallet/clutch of course. When I saw the Della pattern by Swoon I knew this would be perfect!! I have made a couple purses in my sewing career, but nothing crazy mind you. There were many firsts in this pattern for me. First time doing snaps, doing wallet sleeves, and doing swivel clips. Honestly it wasn’t that bad. Were there mistakes? OH YES (like making sure you don’t confuse stabilizer and interfacing for one)!!! But in the end these turned out awesome. Now because I had directional fabric I did have to do the exterior slightly different. I cut two panels with added seam allowance and then put a binding strip down that middle seam. Love the look as it totally gives the spine of the wallet definition. I still can’t believe I made these!
Honestly would it be bad if I gifted one of these to myself? No, I won’t do that, even though it is soooo tempting. Seriously, I know making Christmas gifts can seem daunting. And I know time is always a factor. But if you can, I encourage it. I really can’t wait to see the reaction these will get when they are opened!!!
Have a wonderful holiday season,
