Peasant dresses have been around, well, pretty much forever, and the argument over who created the first peasant pattern has been around just about as long. Every so often, the world of social media will erupt with rumblings and accusations when two designers happen to release similar patterns at the same time. Fans get in an uproar. Most often though, designers reach out to each other and talk it out professionally. Designers understand that they are getting inspiration from the same places and see the same trends emerging. Since it's April Fools Day, we thought it would be fun to play a little joke on PDF fans and poke a little fun at this whole "copycat" phenomenon by having a spoof pattern release party. No, all your favorite designers aren't actually releasing peasant dresses today, but if they were, this is what they might look like:
