You probably own the Bundle Up Collection by now - say what - you don't..... Well go buy it HERE before these incredible savings are gone!!!
There are a great variety of patterns in the bundle and a few of them are designed for knits. I'm here to share some great knit inspiration with you from our great sponsor Girl Charlee.
The Waikiki Swimsuit by Peek A Boo Patterns: Want to try your hand at a swim suit - here are some fabrics that will help you get there.
The California Dress & Peplum by EYMM: This dress is so versatile, so stock up in fun knits so that you can make a bunch! For this dress you want a main fabric with at least 30% stretch and a fabric with 60% or more stretch for the bindings (these can be the same fabric or contrasting). *I've picked fabrics that will not show dirt badly if you choose to do the maxi length*
here's my baby rocking the California in Purple Blue Feather Rows by Girl Charlee
Let your daughter radiate in Radiant Orchid (Magenta Solid Cotton Spandex): While this is listed at 55% stretch... I'm making an educated guess that this would indeed work for both the main dress and the bindings. At 9.5 ox, this will be a medium weight knit perfect for this dress and coordinating leggings or bike shorts!
The Hailey Girls by Mod Kid: This dress is perfect for either knits or woven fabrics. I'm showing you some knits that I think fit perfectly with this dress.
Florals are all the rage this season - and this beautiful Pink Rosey VInes on White Modal print has great color and the white background screams summer. With 2% spandex, it has great recovery and wont stretch out while being worn, and the 9oz weight mean it isn't' going to be see through. Add the ruffle for a sweet summer frock!
Think outside the box - these patterns could be made in certain knits too!
Jocole Wrap Skort - Skorts are great for any little girl who likes to run and play! You get the cute factor of a skort with all the movement ease of shorts! No flashing the neighborhood on the monkey bars or swing, no confinement when trying to climb a tree, no peek a boo diaper when bending over to watch ants or dig in the dirt. And at the end of play time, just brush them off and you are ready to go to church, lunch with nana, or even school. Perfection!
Radiant orchid may be the color of the year, but MINT is the color that I see as the standout of the season. Such a great color for spring and summer! This is a cotton spandex with a smooth finish - so think more along the lines of athletic or dance wear. WIth a 9.5 oz weight it will be a great medium weight knit for your child to wear to gymnastics, out to play, or dressed up.
Jersey Sweatshit knits are perfect for a cute and casual play version - now with a fleece backing this will be thicker and warmer than cotton, but that is great for cool summer nights, windy days at the beach, or rainy days if you live in the North East like me. With almost no stretch, this fabric will cut and sew up just like a non-knit. This print is on sale for $2.45 - but they have some great solids as well!
The Easy Fits by Scientific Seamstress - Easy breezy pants are a great summer choice - and this pants pattern can be made as capris or shorts as well. Since this pattern is designed for wovens, you want to look for a knit with 30% or less stretch.
So now that you have some great inspiration, get sewing on those patterns you have waiting!!! We want to see all your knit-spired creations, so make sure you share with us over on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest #Bundleupknit
