Celebrating Christmas: The Big Day

Whether you like snuggling in at home on Christmas Day or are headed out to celebrate with family and friends, you need the perfect holiday wear that is worthy of being in photos for all time!!!!

For Mack, my sewing is all about comfort and cuteness.  The LLK Drop Waist Diva designed by Cassie Massolia is the perfect mix of comfort and cuteness.  The knit top means that Mack can run and play, eat food, and get lots of cuddles - oh how she LOVED cuddles - without ever feeling confined or scratchy.  The woven skirt is the ideal place to show off a fun Christmas print.

I use the Scientific Seamstress perfectly preppy skirt with the simple gathered option and attached shorts option, the Scientific Seamstress all the rage raglan with the hood option and the Scientific Seamstress festive vest.

Since we live in winterland we keep our Christmas day cozy and comfy, but I do like the outfits to be cute enough for pictures!  

I used a plush felt ( that I ordered in error) for the vest and lined it with flannel for extra warmth, the skirt is a simple cotton so it can get plenty of wear. I lined the raglan hood with the same plush felt fur I made the vest out of and appliqued a puppy on the front. I find the easiest way to have my kids beg me to wear what I make is to put something fun on the outfit and cheeks was so proudly showing off her puppy shirt to everyone. 

We spend our day relaxing with family, cuddling up and watching some Christmas movies while eating popcorn, the kids love playing with the ornaments on the tree and the nativity set I painted many years ago, and if the weather allows we do some snowmobiling or outdoor fun.
