Be Fearless by Ellie and Mac

Hello! It’s Heather of All Things Katy! and I’m excited to share with you my version of the Ellie and Mac Be Fearless Dress.

This fun, twirly dress includes multiple sleeve lengths and features a crossover knit bodice.  The skirt can be sewn in either knit or woven fabrics with a rolled, lettuce hem. Written instructions are minimalistic and do assume that the reader already knows basic sewing steps/techniques (such as finishing raw edges). That being said, clear and descriptive photographs accompany each step and even a confident beginner can sew up a beautiful  Ellie and Mac Be Fearless Dress.

I sewed up a straight size seven, short sleeve  Ellie and Mac Be Fearless with knit bodice and woven skirt. Even though rolled hems are not my strong suit, I did manage to hem the skirt as instructed with a pretty rolled, lettuce hem. However, I did skip the rolled hem on the pouf sleeves and left the knit fabric raw. My favorite part of the Ellie and Mac “Be Fearless Dress” is the fact that it’s a great scrap buster! Between the multiple flounces and bodice/sleeve elements, there are endless pattern combinations. On the other hand, my daughter’s favorite part about the dress is the TWIRL factor!! So twirly and FUN!

Ellie and Mac is also giving away a FREE pattern on their website.  Grab our copy of the Reagan Halter today (available until Feb 15, 2017)
