Stylish Slippers by Filles a Maman

It's that time of year, where the temps are getting quite chilly. Well, at least in my part of the Northern Hemisphere, anyway. But I really can't complain much, as we've not had many days below freezing. My kids do really love slippers, though, so when I saw these Stylish Slippers from Filles a Maman, I thought these would be great for them! I haven't had a chance to sew them up yet, but they will definitely have a pair in their favorite color. I'm going to turn it over to Jeanine, who is far more well versed in winter temps than I!

Jeanine here! Do you like warm toes? I like my feet to stay warm, especially in this winterland I live in! So when I heard about these slipper socks from Filles a Maman I said PLEASE!

I won't lie, these things intimidated me for a bit and I put them off a little, but they certainly didn't need to intimidate me! The pattern directions are super easy to read and the illustrated pictures in the tutorial are all clearly labeled and easy to follow, especially if you skip the stripes option. The pattern pieces are labeled in both French and English  This pattern has so many size options from kids to adult (XXS-4XL). There were a few sizes larger than what I made as well in the pattern!

There are a few pieces to cut out since you are making a pair, and the heal and toe of the outer is a different fabric. I choose a fleece inside and main top piece and a knit outer. You can use a variety of knit fabrics for this pattern but make sure it has stretch so you can get it on and off easy and you won't want to pick both layers being something thick like sweatshirt fleece since that would get bulky and frustrating to sew.

These slipper socks went together really quick, I cut and lazily sewed them up while watching a few episodes of Stargate with the husband one evening. Now I need to make myself another pair. . . maybe a pair that is more girly pretty than lumberjack!

And Kara made a pair too!

You aren't going to believe this.  I cut out and made these socks in less than an hour.  No lie!  If you need a last minute gift, here it is!  The FillesaMaman Stylish Slippers are the perfect quick gift.
