Tinley Tee Tour
/Hi! I'm Shae from Saflower Photography and Saflower Designs and I'm so happy to be a part of the GYCT Designs blog tour for the Tinley Tee and the Love Me Knot Girls Shorts!
Take a step outside and take a big whiff. Do you smell it? Fall is in the air!! Time to start transitioning those summer wardrobes and patterns into outfits for apple picking and pumpkin lattes. These two patterns by GYCT Designs are perfect for doing that. The tee can be made during the summer with either the short sleeve, cap sleeve, or flutter sleeve options, or you can make the long sleeve option for fall and winter. As you can see, I chose to do long sleeve, but then took a couple of inches off for more of a 3/4 sleeve look. This was done mostly because my girl always comes home from school with the ends of her long sleeves all dirty.
I'm also really liking the neckline. A lot of knit patterns tend to have droopy necks, but this one sewed up perfectly!
I chose to nice heavy weight terry knit to give it even more of a fall and winter feel to it. We don't get many cold days here in San Diego, but when we do, I'm going to be happy I have this shirt.
The Love Me Knot shorts are a really fun way to add some layers to your daughter's wardrobe! I paired them with a pair of tights, but you can also layer them over a nice pair of leggings, or just wear them as shorts in the warmer months.
My daughter was blessed with short little legs, so I took about an inch off the length and just brought the keyhole up a little.
These shorts also let you choose how much of a bubble you want them to have. I decided I wanted mine gathered a little bit and then I also added a little extra length onto the ties so that I could tie them in little bows. I think it gives the perfect little girly touch.
They also have a nice flat-front waist band and I think it is a nice touch.
Oh, and as a bonus, both of these patterns are really quick to sew up, especially if you end up using the prepackaged bias tape!! So, what are you waiting for, run out and get these patterns!
