Hi everyone!
I'm so excited to be here on Pattern Revolution. This means I get to introduce to you my first pattern named the Summer Surprise dress and tunic. And let me tell you, it has a real surprise. But first let me tell you about me.
My name is Annemieke and I live in the Netherlands. This means I speak a different language, and yes, I know, my spelling can be a bit off sometimes.... But I'm trying right?! Of course my English instructions are read by some pretty great English speaking women, so no worries ;-)
I started designing for my little girl. I also design for my son, so who knows what the future brings... I had this dress all figured out, but it needed to be on paper for me to start sewing it. So I did the drawing and after that, I decided to grade it... I loved the whole process of designing this pattern and I really loved seeing all those dresses, tunics and tops in pattern testing. So yes, I'm addicted and planning on my next pattern right now!
Now, let me introduce to you........ The Summer Surprise dress and tunic. And yes, it is a real surprise. In front it looks like any other sleeveless dress; it even has a little bit of a sporty look. But when your girl turns around (act surprised...) it's totally different and so cute! She's like a really cute present all wrapped up in a pretty fabric and finished with this cute bow on her back.
(the right one is mine. I'm so proud! ;-) )
It's so cute every little girl should have one. And it has options...
No sleeve options (sorry) but on colder days you could just pull this cute dress over a shirt. And if you don't like the look of the dress with a shirt under it, just make a tunic!
Still not surprised? I secretly added a top length to the pattern. So, you get a dress, tunic and top version in one pattern.
You can make this cute dress in sizes 6 months (68 european size) to 6x/7 years (122 european size) and because some of us have those skinny kids it also has a skinny size! So all of your girls can wear this.....
So, I made you this pattern and now it's up to you. How would you make yours? With a matching bow, or a contrasting one? Maybe even use those scraps you have laying around? It's all your choice. And a great advantage is that you can make this dress, tunic or top in about two hours, maybe even faster depending on your sewing level.
Excited yet? Did I mention that the pattern/instructions comes in both Dutch and English.
