Do you want to build a snowman? I sure do, it's been pretty hot here in Texas and I'm more than ready to start building snowmen, although it typically only snows maybe once a year here! Hi guys, I'm Serena from Serena Garcia Photography here to sew up the Princess Party Dress into a Princess Anna Dress! This fabulous pattern is from Mandy K Designs. Who on this green Earth hasn't seen Frozen or hasn't fallen in love with the princess sisters? My daughter has been obsessed since day 1, I took her to watch it in the theater with her little BFFs and they just can't get enough. Princess Anna has been her favorite so what better than to make her the dress?! Enough gabbing about my little cutie, feast your eyes on the dress!

I finished this dress and she squealed with delight, I'm guessing it looks like Anna's dress! Let's start by saying that this is a 'generic' princess dress that can be adapted with any of the Disney princesses or even your very own custom princess at home.

Let's talk about the fit! My daughter will be 3 in a couple of months and she's just now starting to slowly creep her way into a 3t. The arm elastic casings are a little snug on her, so I would double check measurements before you cut the elastic; an extra inch would make all the difference. The bodice part fits great throughout the back part but I'm not sure how long she'll wear it, I'm crossing my fingers for no random growth spurt anytime soon! The length is great, I actually added in a few extra inches and just rolled them into the hem so that I could let it out if she gets taller this year.

This dress pattern was pretty easy to follow, all instructions are detailed with pictures and options. I would describe myself as maybe an intermediate sewist and I completed this dress with 1,873 interruptions in about 3-4hours. That sounds like a lot but for a detailed dress like this I'd say that was good timing!

Lastly what's so exciting is that Mandy has the 'Anna' templates available to add onto the dress! The bodice part, the skirt motifs, and even the boot motifs. There are many options in adding these to your costume but I chose the freezer paper stencil option. I don't own an embroidery machine so this was a good second and it actually came out pretty good. You could follow this Pinterest tutorial if you need help with ideas in how to accomplish this look.
