The Long Beach Board Shorts by Terra's Treasures
/I'm so excited to share my Terra's Treasures Long Beach Board Shorts review with you today. If you missed it, we hosted a sew along for these shorts a couple months back; you can view the posts by searching Long Beach on our home page. This pattern is available as part of the great Sew Fab Bundle Sale hosted by the Southern Institute. If you have not heard of this sale, be sure to check it out by clicking HERE, and enter the SEW Fab giveaway at the end of this post.
We live at the beach, so board shorts are a staple in my kids' closets. The first thing I love about this pattern is that it is unisex. I've made pairs for both my boys and my girl, and they look equally cute.
I think the sizing is spot on and the fit is excellent. The measurement chart in the pattern helps you choose the right size to make for your child. The pattern features and elasticised back and drawstring flat front, so getting the right fit in the waist is super easy as long as you go by the chart. For all 3 of my kids, the size chart and their measurements corresponded with their current ready to wear size.
The piped back panel is a great place to feature your favorite fabric because it really stands out. I'm not a fan of Angry Birds or any character fabric for that matter, but my boys were super happy to get to choose their own fabric for these.
The pattern comes in sizes 3-6 mo through size 14, so you get a huge range of sizes. It prints easily and the pattern pieces line up perfectly.
As you can see, these are really practical play shorts. If you use swimwear fabric, they would be great for the water too.
Long Beach Board shorts by Terra's Treasures- two thumbs up!
