Color Me Fabric Fun

EEEEEEEKKKKKK - don't you just love new fabric???  It is even more fun when it is a friend who has designed and sent you the fabric!  When Hayley of Mouse House Creations sent out word that she was looking for some people to sew up samples of her new line of Color Me fabric for Micheal Miller, we jumped at the chance!

Serena and I(Suzanne) made our requests and got to coloring.  We took two vastly different approaches and decided to showcase the fabric for girls and boys.  Last year, Mack got all the Color Me love with the free Color Up Tunic pattern.  So this year it was time to spread the love to Bex.

While the traditional approach to coloring fabric is with fabric markers like Serena allowed her daughter to do, I took mine to the dye bath.  A few dunks later, and I had a nice olive green which fit my forest owls perfectly.

Serena showed off the fabric with this great circle skirt tutorial from Dana Made It - pssssst, it's free!

I wanted to showcase my fabric in a shirt, but not a traditional button up, so instead I went with a new pattern that I'm working on for Winter Wear Designs.

Bex loves his new shirt, and it looks like Serena's daughter is pretty excited with her new skirt!

Thanks to Hayley and Micheal Miller for letting us play with these awesome new fabrics!!!  To find more great Color Me fabric creations, search #colormefabric.
